Ahhh, I’ve been waiting to blog this one for what seems like forever! I first spoke to Sonia around a year ago when she and Ben entered my 2016 wedding photography competition, and a couple of months later, they were selected as my winners! Little did we expect to get along as well as old friends from the word go! As is my standard practice now, alongside their wedding coverage I included a complimentary engagement shoot at which we could get to know each other a little better and the wonderful couple could get more comfortable in front of the camera.
Out of the kindness of their hearts, Sonia and Ben offered to pick me up from home and drive us all down to Brighton for a great day out alongside our engagement session – and we even ended up taking their huge, beautiful Dog de Bordeuxs, Huxley and Trixie, with us! (Now THAT was an interesting car ride, squashed in the back of their car with two doggies that were almost bigger than me, covered in slobber!)
So, on the morning of one of the hotter days of the year in May, they picked me up and we set off down to Brighton for our day trip, multiple location and really adventurous engagement session! It’s not a short trip, but it was totally worth it, and I love to travel all around for my work!
Sonia and Ben treated me to a wonderful pub lunch (mm, that was perfect!) before we started the shoot and then we started our trek around the area to various locations such as: Devil’s Dyke, Brighton Beach, the Bandstand, the Rocker and the West Pier.
I could go on for hours about this shoot and how beautiful it is, but I really don’t need to because you can see for yourselves how wonderful and emotional it was! I’m now entirely electrified about Sonia and Ben’s wedding this August, I know it’s going to be a blast!
