I’m so in love with Rachel and Jonny’s engagement shoot on the beach!
Rachel and Jonny booked me as their wedding photographer for their 2018 wedding, and of course, this meant that we’d be meeting up for a pre-wedding beach engagement photoshoot! I spoke to the guys about their ideas, and we decided that a beach styled session would be absolutely perfect for them.
We settled on Broadstairs, and decided to head over there by train one wintery afternoon before sunset. When we arrived, we actually asked the taxi driver to drive us around to Botany Bay… but forever reason he didn’t get the memo, and he dropped us off at the closer Joss bay. No problemo – we can create beautiful images anywhere!
So, we began shooting as the light began to lower and the sunset peaked above this gorgeous couple – but it didn’t quite have the feel we were looking for. We decided to take a walk around to the next bay. At first we tried to go through via the beach itself – around the cliffs, but we soon found that it was far too wet to be trapping through with a couple in nice shoes and a few thousand pounds worth of gear! So we climbed back up the many, many steps and found our way to the next bay along. And found it to be Kinsgate Bay.
Although it still wasn’t Botany Bay, Kingsgate Bay had the much more picturesque feel of an English beach and we were soon at home – exploring the caves and using the arches and beautiful landscape to create some wonderful, relaxed engagement images that I’m sure this wonderful couple will enjoy for years. Now I’m just looking forward to shooting their wedding!
And for the rest of you, here’s a little look at their session!
