Rochester Castle & Corn Exchange, Kent Wedding Photgraphy – Soph & Ash

Sophie and Ashley… what can I say? I’m so lucky to have been a part of their big day… lucky enough that I was not only their wedding photographer… but their bridesmaid too! (Hence the lack of photographs of the bright red haired bridesmaid, aka me – I commissioned my other half to take photographs with me in!) I was honoured to shoot their Rochester castle wedding photography.

Mr and Mrs Bond were married in Rochester at the Registrar Office / the Corn Exchange! before we and all their guests walked up to the beautiful and historic Rochester Castle to take a few beautiful shots on a beautiful summer’s day! After I’d got the chance to snap the happy couple in their element, we all traipsed along for a quick lunch in Rochester town before heading to the Royal Function Rooms for the wedding reception! Sophie’s son Harry and my son, Oscar, spent the day causing mischief – being typical boys! – while Harry’s new step-sister, Keira enjoyed sticking close to her daddy and sneaking in on the shots! That and giving us a very beautiful performance of “Let it Go” at the evening disco! I was so happy to be their Kent Rochester Castle wedding photographer!

I arrived early at Sophie’s flat with the rest of the bridesmaids and other family/friends who were crowding in to begin the big day! We all started our bridal prep – makeup, hair and dressing each other! – while I also started my second job for the day, this important one of photographing it! It was a little bit of hard work… but it was definitely worth it to both see, be a part of and capture my best friend’s big day! When we were finally all ready, we got in separate cars to journey to the venue and I shared Sophie’s wedding car for her last car ride as a single woman! We were excited and elated… Time flew and she was walking down the aisle in no time. Tears fell as everyone hugged because our Sophie was getting married!

After the reception, photos and food, the other guests and I arrived before Sophie and Ashley (who had snuck back to their flat for a bit of alone time!) to greet them, and surprised them with a big group greeting as they walked through the door! Then the disco started… the kids found the dance floor amazing, twirling around the pole in the middle of it – and the room was packed full of happy guests! At the end of the night, everyone was quite… merry! Emotions were running high, dancing was in full force and Adam and I left to get my son, Oscar home… I am so glad to have been photographing Sophie and Ashley’s wedding… Better yet, I love these adorable photographs and I hope they do too! Here’s a little viewing of them for those of you reading!
